Watch your computers for e-naughtiness

One-quarter of employees who use computers visit pornographic Web sites.

You might want to take a closer look at what Web sites your employees are visiting during their downtime. If the results of a new study apply to your practice, you may be shocked at what you find. Researchers at Nielsen Online found that one-quarter of employees who use the Internet visit pornographic sites during the workday. That's a 2 percent increase from last year's study. Along with lost productivity and the potential for sexual harassment lawsuits, viewing adult sites exposes computers to viruses, adware, and spyware. So if your computer keeps crashing, ask employees if they've seen any devious activity and check out the Internet browser history. Just be careful before clicking on any suspicious links.
