First, don't tell the potential employer to "see your LinkedIn profile" — it's not the same thing as your resume — but you still want to update your profile every time you update your resume. Pursell also says don't include an objective statement or photo on your resume, and avoid writing "references available upon request." And to avoid any formatting issues, always send a Word document version of your resume instead of a PDF version, she adds.
