In the next 7 to 9 years, Dr. Lisciandro believes medical students will be learning and doing Global FAST in school, where they look at your abdomen with an ultrasound probe, look at your heart, and look at your lungs. He says we will soon see Global FAST come to be on the human medical side, and that hopefully this will be one of the rare instances where veterinary medicine is right on par with—or if we can train enough veterinarians in the next few years ahead of—human medicine.
