Gainesville, Fla.
-- Large-animal veterinarian Dana Zimmel is now interim chief of staff for both the large-animal and small-animal hospitals at the University of Florida College of Veterinary medicine.
Zimmel, DVM, Dipl. ABVP (equine), ACVIM (large animal), had served as associate chief of staff for the university's large-animal hospital since January.
Budget issues have led to restructuring and a new single chief of staff for both hospitals, according to a spokesperson.
Zimmel has taught at both the University of Georgia and the University of Florida, where she held positions as assistant professor, equine extension agent, chief of extension services and clinical assistant professor.
