Although the recent overturning of the ban in Utah by a federal court is disappointing, I still hope the FDA's decision will pave the way for an industry gone amuck.

Study reveals vehicle for sensing amino acids
April 18th 2005DAVIS, CALIF. - 04/15/05 - Researchers have identified the mechanism that allows animals to recognize the amino-acid content in foods. Neurophysiologist Dorothy Gietzen and colleagues at the University of California-Davis (UC-Davis) School of Veterinary Medicine say the discovery has implications for the betterment of human health, particularly in epileptics, some of whom are influenced by amino-acid deficiencies.

April 1st 2005Dr. Pedersen set out to add to our knowledge of feline virology. He succeeded. Among other notable accomplishments, he co-discovered the feline immunodeficiency virus in 1986. Today, he is the director of the Center for Companion Animal Health and the Veterinary Genetics Laboratory at the UC Davis School of Veterinary Medicine.
