20/20 Imaging to highlight new digital imaging system

20/20 Imaging ­—a division of Konica Minolta Healthcare Americas, Inc.— will display VETSMART, its most advanced digital imaging solution, at the Veterinary Meeting & Expo (VMX) in Orlando, Florida. Since the product's launch in June 2021, the company and its dealers have installed 15 of the artificial intelligence (AI ) infused VETSMART X-ray solutions at veterinary sites nationwide.

“Veterinarians and their staff are often amazed once they see how easy it is to acquire exceptional image quality across an array of animals and breeds with VETSMART,” said Terry Snow, a veterinary imaging specialist at 20/20 Imaging, in an organizational release.

“Obtaining images in a veterinary setting should be smooth and efficient to reduce stress on the animal patient. VETSMART provides for an easier, streamlined imaging process that our customers report enables them to increase the overall number of radiographs taken on a given day, resulting in higher quality medical care," he continued.

VETSMART features a smart collimator that uses anatomically programmed radiography (APR) to measure the patient’s body habitus and suggest the appropriate imaging technique, according to the release. VETSMART also includes a patented auto thickness detection technology, further streamlining scanning parameters. Once the body part is selected, the operator uses the smart collimator to determine body thickness, and measurements are sent to the X-ray generator that utilizes the APR for accurate image acquisition.
