The sign in front of a Florida veterinary hospital has gone viral, gaining fame on Buzzfeed and Huffington Post for its witty content.

Gemma Miller, the mastermind behind the verbiage and a veterinary technician at Eau Gallie Veterinary Hospital in Melbourne, Fla., started putting funny messages on the sign to get the word out about the importance of spays, neuters and preventive medicine in an eye-catching way.

Her first humorous sign (above) went up about six months ago, and she changes the funny phrase every two weeks or so. She started the project solo because her coworkers didn’t want to get involved, fearing negative reactions from some of the more off-color jokes.

This is Miller's favorite sign. She got the idea from the clinic's dog, which is fond of running around naked and jumping up on people's laps.

Miller says she gets most of her ideas for the sign from funny shirts or signs she sees on the Internet, and then adapts them for veterinary medicine.

Miller believes the signs have increased business at the hospital, especially since they've grown more humorous. Though she can't quantify how many new clients the signs have brought in, the hospital gets calls and emails all the time, and no one comes in the door without mentioning the funny phrases.

Miller says she's glad the hospital sign has been able to highlight the importance of spays, neuters and preventive care to current clients-and anyone driving by. She also says she's always open to suggestions for the next funny phrase.
