AABP annual student award winners named

ROME, GA. - 6/20/05 - Two out of five annual awards that recognize academic achievement by the American Association of Bovine Practitioners (AABP) were given to students at the University of Wisconsin School of Veterinary Medicine.

ROME, GA. - 6/20/05 - Two out of five annual awards that recognize academic achievement by the American Association of Bovine Practitioners (AABP) were given to students at the University of Wisconsin School of Veterinary Medicine.

Schering-Plough Animal health sponsors the national prize that awards veterinary students interested in pursuing a career in dairy or beef veterinary medicine with $1,000 and a plaque at the AABP conference that takes place in Salt Lake City on September.

Winners are selected from national applicants based on background, interest in bovine medicine, academic and work achievement and career goals.

Students honored with the award include:J. Egan Brockhoff, fourth year student at the College of Veterinary medicine, University of SaskatchewanNathan Dorshorst, a fourth-year student at the University of WisconsinRebecca Mentink, third-year student, University of WisconsinJoe Shockey, fourth-year student, The Ohio State UniversityMatthew Walker, fourth-year student, the Atlantic Veterinary College, University of Prince Edward Island
