Learn more about our Fetch conference in Charlotte, North Carolina kicking off in March 2023
In 2022, dvm360® chose a brand-new location for the Fetch East conference: Charlotte, North Carolina. Due to the meeting’s success, Fetch Charlotte will be returning on March 24, 2023, for 3 days of hands-on, interactive education and networking opportunities. Veterinary professionals can earn up to 17 RACE-approved CE credits during the conference and enjoy keynote presentations every morning—from veterinarians Elizabeth Colleran and Jan Bellows, and veterinary technician Walter Brown.
An author, speaker, consultant, and feline specialist, Colleran is certified by the American Board of Veterinary Practitioners. She served for a number of years on the board of the American Association of Feline Practitioners, including as president in 2011 and as treasurer from 2007 to 2009, and is currently a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association welfare committee. She received her DVM from Tufts University School of Veterinary Medicine.
Colleran will kick off the conference with a presentation titled “A Tail of Two Kitties: Recognizing Chronic Pain From the Cat’s Perspective and Yours,” which will focus on identifying pain easily and effectively. Attendees will learn how to work with cat parents to diagnose pain in older cats so that they can enjoy a healthy life. Colleran will also discuss how videos and proactive communication can help elicit the parents’ perspective, which is an important component of the diagnosis.
After receiving his doctoral degree in veterinary medicine from Auburn University, Bellows returned to South Florida to practice companion animal medicine, surgery, and dentistry at All Pets Dental, in Weston. He has been certified by the Board of Veterinary Practitioners (canine and feline) since 1986 and the American Veterinary Dental College (AVDC) since 1990. He was AVDC president from 2012 to 2014 and is currently president of the Foundation for Veterinary Dentistry. Bellows will deliver his keynote address—“Dental Hacks From A to Zebra”—on day 2 of the conference. In this session, he will focus on veterinary dentistry as a whole and offer tricks and tips on new equipment, materials, and techniques.
Brown, a registered veterinary technician and social media influencer, combines comedy and a medical background to educate and offer relief to veterinary professionals around the world. He received a BS in veterinary/animal health from Fort Valley State University and was trained in emergency and critical care at the University of Georgia Veterinary Teaching Hospital. One of his goals is to create veterinary assistant programs at inner-city schools and charter schools in low-income areas.
To wrap up the conference, Brown will present “Oh Hell to the No! Bizarre Cases in the ER!” He hopes attendees can laugh and learn from these strange, but real, cases about triaging, stabilizing, and treating patients in the collaborative setting of emergency and critical care medicine.
We are exactly one month away so register for our Fetch dvm360® Charlotte conference. This must-attend event is taking place March 24-26, 2022!
