- The American Veterinary Medical Foundation named Michael W. Cathey as its new director.
Cathey comes to AVMF from the Boy Scouts of America, where he served as director of major gifts and planned giving for the Washington D.C. metropolitan area. He was credited with leading a $50 million fundraising before his departure. Cathey has worked with a number of organizations in development roles including the American Medical Association Foundation, National Safety Council and the National Parent Teacher Association.
Cathey will report to AVMF's Board of Directors which includes: Dr. Bud Hertzog, Dr. Anna van Heeckeren, Dr. George W. Bishop, Rebecca J. Kuprowicz and Dr. Tracy Rhodes.
