-- The non-profit P2V joined forces with Banfield, The Pet Hospital to provide veterinary care to adopted pets placed with military service members, veterans and emergency first responders.
P2V is an organization devoted to matching companion animals with military personnel and emergency first responders, the company says.
"Our organization's goal is to help heal the lives of current and former service men and women who deal with the stress of service-related trauma," says David E. Sharpe, founder of P2V. "Because of our partnership with Banfield, our P2V Heroes do not have to worry about finding affordable and high quality medical care for their new family members -- instead, they can focus on healing, together."Banfield, owner of 760 veterinary hospitals, is providing 25 free Optimum Wellness Plans per year for three years to select P2V Heroes. All other P2V Hereoes will receive a waived membership fee. Banfield's Optimum Wellness Plans include a package of preventive healthcare services that include vaccinations, twice annual examinations, lab work and other preventive services.
"Our practice has a tradition of helping veterans and their families who have sacrificed so much for our country," adds Karen Johnson, DVM, vice president and client advocate for Banfield.
