Pharmacia Animal Health introduces the Modified Targeted Breeding (MTB)protocol. The program offers 100 percent insemination of cows after thevoluntary waiting period. MTB uses heat detection to breed cows observedin heat and offers appointment breeding for those cows not in heat, thecompany says. Closely following each step for MTB ensures maximum results,the company says.

The protocol groups cows with similar calving dates together and placesthem on a timeline to receive three injections. Estrus occurs either latein the second or early in the third day after the breeding Lutalyse®injection. Cows not showing signs of estrus are bred 72 to 80 hours post-injection.
