Butler, Burns complete merger

DUBLIN, OHIO - 7/08/05 - The Butler Co. and Burns Veterinary Supply completed its business combination first announced April 18. With about 600 employees, the combined company, now called Butler Animal Health Supply LLC, serves more than 29,000 veterinary clinics in 50 states and offers more than 15,000 products for more than 300 vendors.

DUBLIN, OHIO - 7/08/05 - The Butler Co. and Burns Veterinary Supply completed its business combination first announced April 18. With about 600 employees, the combined company, now called Butler Animal Health Supply LLC, serves more than 29,000 veterinary clinics in 50 states and offers more than 15,000 products for more than 300 vendors.

Kim Allen, the new president of Butler Animal Health Supply's Commercial Division added, "We are very pleased that this transaction has progressed so well. As a result of the transaction, Oak Hill Capital Partners II LP, the financial partner for the transaction, and the Darby Group Companies Inc., the former shareholder of Burns, together own a controlling interest in Butler Animal Health Supply with Oak Hill and Darby owning approximately equal beneficial stakes. Management also owns a minority interest.

DVM Newsmagazine misreported the merger as an acquisition in its July issue. We regret the error.
