Sacramento, Calif.

-- The California State Assembly passed a bill that could require animal health insurance providers to better communicate coverage limitations.

Assembly Bill 2411 would require insurers to list coverage restrictions, such as pre-existing conditions, on their Web sites' home page. The California bill passed 43 to 16 and moves onto the Senate for approval.

The bill is thought to be much more lenient than the original legislation calling on pet insurance companies to do away with coverage limitations for pre-existing conditions.
