S&J Tools introduces the Tri-Bander and the XL Bander designed to help perform castration without the using a knife.
The Tri-Bander is designed to work on bull calves from newborn up to approximately 400 pounds. Using this device, castration on calves can be performed up to four months of age.
The XL Bander is ideal for calves in the 250 to 750 pound range, the company says. The S&J models work like the pliers. Put the band on the tool, open it up, put in place and release. The band design for these banders also has the advantage of being flat so it will not roll off of the applicator. Tri-Bands are twice as strong as the green bands and can also be used on the plier type applicators, the company adds.
