The nationally distributed Robert Abady Dog Food Company's "Abady Highest Quality Maintenance and Growth Formula for Cats" has been recalled under suspicion of Salmonella contamination. The product can be bought in two-, five- and 15-pound corrugated boxes with plastic liners marked with lot No. 14029/21 stamped on the top, right side of the box.
According to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA), routine testing by the company revealed the presence of Salmonella in the cat food. Production of the Maintenance and Growth Formula is suspended while FDA and the company continues to investigate the source of the problem.
