BATTLE GROUND, IN - 10/6/06 - Veterinary technicians will be in the spotlight next week as the National Association of Veterinary Technicians in America, Inc. (NAVTA) readies for National Veterinary Technician Week (NVTW) Oct. 15-21.
"We CARE!" is the theme for this year's NVTW activities. Events scheduled nationally will focus on increasing awareness of the veterinary technician's role. Technicians' primary responsibilities on the animal health care team include nursing care, administering medication, assisting in surgery, taking x-rays, inducing and monitoring of anesthesia, hospital management and laboratory testing.
