Baton Rouge, LA. - 12/22/07 - Fellow DVM and State Rep. Mike Strain, who will take over as Louisiana's agriculture and forestry commissioner next month has tapped another local veterinarian to a high-ranking position in the department.
Baton Rouge, LA. - 12/22/07 - Fellow DVM and State Rep. Mike Strain , who will take over as Louisiana's agriculture and forestry commissioner next month has tapped another local veterinarian to a high-ranking position in the department.
Folsom veterinarian Brent Robbins, director of Animal Services for St. Tammany Parish, was named assistant commissioner for animal health services by commissioner-elect Strain.
"Dr. Robbins has led the department to a high level of professionalism and compassion," says Ken Davis, St. Tammany Parish president. "From staff training to guiding the construction of a new animal shelter scheduled to opn in 2008, Dr. Robbins is leaving a great legacy in St. Tammany Parish."
Robbins' appointment takes effect Jan. 14, the same day Strain will replace 28-year position veteran Bob Odom.
