The problem with the lots of EVO brand foods was discovered during an investigation of an ingredient inventory discrepancy, the FDA says. Retailers in California, Georgia, Michigan, Minnesota, Nevada, Pennsylvania, Texas, Vermont and Canada, as well as online distributors, have been instructed to immediately pull the recalled products. Pets can become ill if they lack vitamins for prolonged periods. "There have been no reports of animal health concerns to date, but these lots do not meet our quality standards and should not be consumed by pets," the FDA release states.
Natura Pet says in a letter to EVO consumers on its website that no other dry dog food, dry cat food, dog or cat canned wet food, biscuits, treats or supplements are affected by this recall.
Consumers with the affected product are encouraged to dispose of it and call Natura Consumer Relations at 1-855-206-8297 for a refund or replacement. For more information, go to evopet.com.
