Washington, D.C.
-- The Food and Drug Administration has created a new Pet Health and Safety Widget for use for free on Web sites.
The widget includes Tips -- the current two are "How to Report a Pet Food Complaint" and "Purchasing Pet Drugs Online" -- and Updates, which lists pet-health-related news from the FDA.
The widget will offer pet owners "the latest news and information from the FDA's Center for Veterinary Medicine," says the Center's director Bernadette Dunham, DVM, PhD.
At press time, there were six included updates on the widget, including a new pet treat recall announcement. But the earliest of the six items dated back to December 2008.
Owners of Web sites or blogs can add the widget to their sites by following the directions here.
