Feline cat-leticism to be tested at the "Kitten Summer Games"

Article

Hallmark Channel, home of the Kitten Bowl, will host its first Olympic-themed kitten event.

Some of the nation's most adoptable-and athletic-kittens will have the chance to compete and bring home the gold, silver or bronze medals in the "Kittens Summer Games," which air on August 5 on the Hallmark Channel, according to a channel release. The games are hosted by Beth Stern, and feature announcers Mary Carillo and David Frei.

The cat-letes from across the country will compete in gymnastics, with events including the balance beam, uneven bars, rings and floor exercises; track and field and "de-cat-hlon," tennis, wrestling and more.

The kittens competing join the games from North Shore Animal League America and Last Hope Animal Rescue and Rehabilitation and will all be found homes after the games conclude. The Hallmark Channel also partnered with the North Shore Animal League America to host nationwide adoption drives the weekend of July 30-31, according to the release.
