Aller-g-complete from Greer Laboratories offers a simple and accurate serum testing with easy-to-read results that allow more accurate detection of allergen-specific canine, feline and equine IgE, the company says. The efficacy of ELISA-based immunotherapy has been demonstrated to be greater than 75 percent, the company adds. Greer prescription compounding service provides each patient's specifically formulated allergy immunotherapy set, including owner friendly patient management tools.

The Aller-g-complete test is a solid-phase enzyme immunoassay that incorporates a cocktail of monoclonal anti-IgE antibodies to detect multiple antigenic sites on IgE molecules.

The test features geographically specific allergen panels, including 28 pollens, 10 molds, and 10 mites and environmentals. The panels now include malassezia, a common yeast infection; culicoides; human dander; and storage mites often found in pet food. Food and insect panels test 24 components of commercially available pet foods and 12 common household and biting insects, the company says.

Veterinarians need to provide 3-5 ml of patient serum in the vial included, complete the history and order form and use the postage-paid mailer to send to Greer.

Test results, indicating specific level of IgE detected for each allergen, are easy to interpret and include immunotherapy recommendations, the company says.
