Robert Silver, DVM, MS: I have always been interested in integrative approaches to supplement the health benefits of conventional medicine for my patients. Even before I was a veterinarian, I was very interested in plants. I learned how to identify edible plants...in [veterinary] school, we have a poison plants class and we actually go out and identify the plants. I had the most fun in that class.
