Drew Scientific Inc. introduces the HemaVet® 950, hematology analyzer for use in veterinary clinics and hospitals.

The machine offers veterinary professionals the ability to get an accurate complete blood count (CBC) and a 5-part population of white blood cell differential for the widest range of veterinary species in the industry, the company says.

The HemaVet was designed specifically for veterinary hematology and uses species-specific diluting and Dual Electronic, High-Resolution Focused Flow Cytometry technology to achieve accurate broad linearity (including MCV) with accurate cell count and size information.

Reliable results are achieved in less than two minutes for a true average cost per reportable test of $2, based on 15 tests per day, the company says.

The minimum amount of blood needed for a complete test is 20 microliters, the company adds.

The HemaVet 950 comes with two pre-programmed species, a Rock 'n Roller sample tube mixer, report printer, reagent starter kit and a two-year warranty. Installation and training are also included in the purchase price.

A 50-patient data storage option is available, along with an optional keypad.

The product can be configured for low- or high-volume practices.

The company offers several purchase or lease options for customers.
