How to safely lift fractious dogs

For many fractious dogs, it's safer to work with them on an exam room table instead of the floor.

For many fractious dogs, it's safer to work with them on an exam room table instead of the floor. However, dogs can perceive someone bending over and lifting them as a threat. So to lift a dog safely, place a slip leash on the dog, and use a towel as a sling under its abdomen. Lifting with the leash and towel can quickly and safely allow you to hoist the dog onto the table.
