IGNITE Veterinary Solutions, LLC released the Veterinary Receptionist Certificate of Excellence, Specialty & Emergency (VRCE Spec/ER). This marks IGNITE’s second customer service representative (CSR) certificate for career track development, enhanced client experience, and advanced hospital growth and profitability.

According to a company release,1 IGNITE recognized that Specialty and Emergency veterinary hospitals have training needs unique from general practice and require specialized training. Thus, this program offers both CSRs new to an emergency or specialty practice and established CSRs in this industry the critical skills needed for the vital role they have in the clinic.

“I have to say that educating and empowering this deserving CSR group has been among the most rewarding points of my career. We have seen our general practice CSR students conquer their fears of financial discussions, rejoice when they are able to communicate value to a client and hear ‘Yes’ instead of ‘No,’ and speak the language of veterinary medicine more capably and instantly feel more accepted by the medical team,” expressed Jill Clark, DVM, founder, and chief visionary officer, in the release.1

“I’m so excited to bring the same confidence and capability to our Specialty and Emergency CSRs! We have lumped all practice types into veterinary education for far too long. It’s time for engaging learning specific to the struggles and environment of the Specialty and ER practice!”

The VRCE Spec/ER curriculum features specialized training modules including1:

  • Managing high volume caseloads
  • Relationship management of referrals
  • Elevated communication & terminology
  • Consistent & outstanding client experience

VRCE Spec/ER includes courses within 2 semesters, and each student must complete a workbook featuring customized learning related to the student's home specialty and emergency hospital. Observation checklists require students to display their new skills to their supervisor/proctor after every learning session. Each CSR student that has finished the curriculum must complete and pass a final proctored test.
