Laurel, MD - 12/13/07 - Licensed veterinarians and acupuncturists with previous training qualifications are encouraged to attend the Animal Acupuncture program, put on by the Tai Sophia Institute, to further their knowledge and experience.
The four-month program, beginning in March 2008, is open to DVMs who have completed training with the International Veterinary Acupuncture Society and acupuncturists who have received training from institutions accredited by the Accreditation Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine.
The 187-hour training course program offers didactic instruction, clinical experience and the opportunity for students to assess energy and diagnose and develop comprehensive treatment plans for companion animals. Equine, canine and feline anatomy will also be taught while students gain awareness of the various specialty veterinary practices available and become versed in discussing treatment options with pet owners and referriing veterinarians.
Applications for the Animal Accupuncture course are currently being accepted, with a Jan. 31 deadline. For more information, contact the Office of Community Programs at the Tai Sophia Institute at (410) 888-9048 or visiti www.tai.edu.
