Insurance provider readies for national coverage

The company is a division of General Fire and Casualty Company and will initially offer programs in Arizona, Colorado, Idaho, Indiana, Kansas, and Nebraska, Texas and Utah were slated to follow.
The company says it anticipates being able to offer plans nationally by the end of 2006.
Jack Stephens, DVM, founder of Pets Best, designed the insurance plans to provide peace of mind to clients, the company says.
"I looked at the needs of the pet owner where a pet is considered a family member, and I focused on what pet owners and their veterinarians wanted that was not available from any other company," Stephens says.
The company is veterinary owned and operated, with 30 years of veterinary experience and in-depth knowledge of all aspects of pet insurance.
