Denver, Colo. - 5/30/07 - Following the launch of its Canine Cancer Campaign, Morris Animal Foundation (MAF) released a special issue of its quarterly publication, AnimalNews, highlighting cancer in companion animals.
The special report announces the Canine Cancer Campaign, focuses on the need for more cancer research and dicusses a recently launched clinical trial for bone cancer treatment and the establishment of a nationwide canine tumor tissue bank.
Because cancer is not limited to dogs, the issue also addresses additional cancer research being done for cats and horses. Other topics include an MAF-funded program to train cancer researchers, which will help to fill the need for new veterinary oncologists.
