NAVTA enters partnership with NAVC, seeks new executive director
NAVTA and NAVC join forces to serve veterinary technicians.
The National Association of Veterinary Technicians in America (NAVTA) recently entered into a partnership with the North American Veterinary Conference (NAVC)—an arrangement where NAVC will serve as NAVTA’s association management partner. And now NAVC and NAVTA have announced a search for a new executive director. The job will now be split 50/50 between supporting NAVTA’s strategic direction and supporting the NAVC, which will include guiding NAVC veterinary technician programs and projects and overseeing the veterinary technician community within the NAVC VetFolio web site.
The two non-profit organizations announced plans to work together to develop new products and services for veterinary technicians, which may include webinars, articles, conference lecture tracks and online courses.
In a press release, Lynne E. Johnson-Harris, LVT, RVT, the 2013-2014 President of the NAVC, said, “This is a very exciting time for the two organizations. By joining forces, we will be able to offer the best in continuing education to all members of the veterinary healthcare team, 24/7, fulfilling the mission of both organizations.” Johnson-Harris, who has served on the NAVC board since 2003, is the first veterinary technician to serve as president.
