Petco partners with Rover to provide pet sitting, boarding, and dog walking services
Pet owners can access pet care services on Rover through petco.com and a Petco Vital Care membership.
Petco Health and Wellness Company, Inc. has collaborated with Rover.com—the world's largest online marketplace for pet care—to offer Petco customers pet sitting, boarding, and dog walking services.
"We are pleased to expand our relationship with Rover and make their leading pet boarding, sitting, walking, and daycare services more accessible to pet parents through Petco's integrated, multichannel ecosystem of solutions," expressed Jenny Wolski, Petco SVP of omnichannel experience, in a company release.
"And in turn, we're excited for more pet parents to learn how Vital Care can make it easier for them to give their pets the comprehensive health and wellness care they need,” she added.
The partnership develops Petco's end-to-end ecosystem of health and wellness offerings (ie, pet products, training, grooming, and veterinary care) by simplifying customers’ access to services for dogs and cats on Rover directly from petco.com.
Individuals that book these services for the first time can receive a one-time $10 discount. Members of Petco's Vital Care offering—a paid annual program delivering pet owners a comprehensive wellness plan for an easier, more affordable method for caring for their pet’s whole health—will obtain a one-time discount of $20 on their booking beginning in spring of 2022.
Petco customers and Vital Care members will have access to various Rover services, including:
- Boarding: Overnight pet care in the comfort of a sitter's home
- House sitting: Overnight pet care or house-sitting services at the pet's home
- Dog walking: A walk in the pet's neighborhood
- Doggy daycare: Daytime pet care in the pet sitter's home
- Drop-in visits: For bathroom breaks, brief play dates, and litter box cleanings

Rover will inform customers on the benefits of Vital Care to assist those interested in caring for their pets' mental, physical, social, home, and accessible health. As a significant number of US homes welcomed new pets since 2020, Petco strives to reach and help pet owners sign their companion animals up as Vital Care members.
