Dehydration is a prevalent condition among animals that can lead to serious health complications—especially during the summer months. To curtail this threat, Petralyte, a veterinarian-formulated electrolyte supplement for canines, and subscription-based pet healthcare company Fuzzy, have joined forces to educate pet owners about the importance of efficient pet hydration and health.

"As a dog owner, it is sometimes difficult to find the right healthcare for your pet. Fuzzy not only educates users on how to best care for pets but also offers products that their veterinarians have fully tested and vetted themselves," says Akash Appachi, cofounder of Petralyte, in a company press release. "Hydration is vital in all pets, and we are excited to help owners further enhance their pets' health through Fuzzy.”

For a limited time, Petralyte customers will have access to a 7-day free trial to Fuzzy, which includes a complimentary nutrition chat or video consultation with veterinary team support. Both companies will work in tandem to safeguard the health of companion animals by educating owners about the early warning signs of dehydration and heat exhaustion, and providing them with professional advice on preventative and in-the-moment care decisions.

Additionally, this partnership will assist in broadening the awareness of pet hydration by encouraging owners to become more consistent and proactive in their pets’ health, with the goal of decreasing the need for in-person emergency veterinary visits.

"Pet electrolyte supplementation, along with adequate hydration, is one of the best methods for preventing heat exhaustion, stress, and strokes. Preemptively using electrolytes gives pet parents the chance to avoid costly ER bills to remedy these issues," says Cherice Roth, DVM, Fuzzy's chief veterinary officer, in the release.

"By offering Petralyte to Fuzzy members, particularly those in areas impacted by record-breaking heat this season, we are empowering pet parents to take their pets' health outcomes into their own hands," Roth added.
