To help veterinarians more effectively manage feline lower urinary tract disease (FLUTD) patients, Hills Pet Nutrition, Inc. updates the names of two feline urinary pet food products to help differentiate between nutritionally managing struvite and oxalate crystals and stones, and to simplify how to identify the appropriate products, the company says. The changes are:

Prescription Feline x/d replaces Prescription Diet Feline c/d-oxl. The diet nutritionally aids cats with calcium oxalate stones and crystals, the company says.

Prescription Diet Feline c/d replaces Prescription Diet Feline c/d-s. This product helps limit struvite formation. Feline c/d canned formula also reduces the recurrence of idiopathic lower urinary tract disease.

Both products offer great taste plus nutrition that is now antioxidant fortified with vitamin E, selenium and beta carotene, the company says. To help clients easily transition to the new product names, Hills is inserting information in the bags to notify them of the upcoming changes. Additionally the products with the new names will have communication on the package to signify the name change, the company says.
