Santa and his elves give prime pet health

Article

Harness the holiday spirit to educate clients on pet health.

Team members at the Woodland Veterinary Hospital in Woodland, Calif., dressed as elves last December and took pets and their owners on a tour of the hospital. Each room was devoted to a different pet health topic, such as dental care, heartworms, or surgery. The trip through the practice ended in the lobby, where Santa was waiting to pose for pictures with pets. Team members put the photos on a disc, presented it to clients, and suggested they make a small donation to the hospital's stray animal fund. For an additional donation, the practice made prints for clients to pick up later. The hospital raised nearly $500 for its charity but spent almost nothing. Best of all, the event brought team members together and reinforced the hospital's bond with its clients, says Jessica Reyes, office manager. If you'd like to host a similar event, Reyes suggests contacting your various company representatives for freebies to offer clients.
