The Monomend® MT (Mid-Term) is a mid-term synthetic absorbable monofilamentsuture made of glyconate. The smooth suture is pliable and provides easypassage, minimizing tissue trauma. It has excellent holding power throughthe critical wound healing period, retaining 50 percent tensile strengthup to 14 days, the company says. Designed for secure knotting performance,Monomend MT has strong knot securty, while its violet color aides visibility.Monomend is completely absorbed in 60 to 90 days, the company says.

Polymend® ES is an extremely smooth braided, coated synthetic absorbablesuture. The magnesium stearate coating ensures smooth tissue passage thatminimizes sawing and tissue trauma, while providing excellent handling properties,the company says. The suture line also includes Chromend, a patented drypacked surgical chromic gut and three non-absorbable sutures.
