Technicians: Host a fundraiser to support your craft

National Veterinary Technician Week is coming up. Celebrate by raising funds for needy pets.

National Veterinary Technician Week is coming up, October 11-17. And what better way to celebrate than by raising funds for organizations many technicians love?

In conjunction with National Veterinary Technician Week, the American Animal Hospital Association (AAHA) and the National Association of Veterinary Technicians in America (NAVTA) will join forces to educate the public about the role veterinary technicians play in pet health care. In addition, student chapters of NAVTA will host fundraising events that benefit the AAHA Helping Pets Fund. AAHA will provide a celebratory luncheon for the student group that raises the most money.

But why should students have all the fun? Veterinary technicians across the country can hold fundraising events of their own to show support for the Helping Pets Fund, which provides grants for emergency and non-elective treatments for pets in need. So whether you'd like to set up a bake sale, lemonade stand, car wash, or some other type of fundraiser, needy pets will appreciate your efforts. And the profession of veterinary technician will benefit too. Click here to learn more about the Helping Pets Fund.
