The advantages of 24-7 online booking platforms

At the 2021 New York Vet show in New York, New York, Caitlin DeWilde, DVM, founder of The Social DVM, highlighted why having an online booking platform available at all times is key for success in the veterinary business.

Caitlin DeWilde, DVM: When we [offer a 24-7 online booking platform] we expand our availability to take those appointments from 50 to 60 hours based on a normal clinic’s opening [hours] all the way up to 168 hours so more than double the amount of time that we can accept appointments. We also know that both human and veterinary data show that most practices that offer online booking—the majority of those appointments are made overnight or after hours so we’re missing out a lot of people when they are thinking about taking action and making that appointment by just not facilitating it.
