H3D introduces the Tick-Twister, an instrument designed to remove parasitic ticks from the skin of animals and people. The device turns the body of the tick, almost never leaving the mouth of the tick imbedded in the skin, the company says. It also helps minimize the transmission of infectious agents during removal by minimizing the risk of saliva back-flow into the skin, which can lead to allergic manifestations and to the transmission of tick-borne microorganisms, the company adds. The Tick-Twister is made of polyoxymethylene, a recyclable plastic, and can be incinerated without pollution, the company says.
