Veterinary Products Laboratories (VPL) introduces an easier way to apply its patented Tissumendâ¢II — the only synthetic, absorbable surgical tissue adhesive available to veterinarians, the company says. The reusable Tissumend II MicroDose⢠syringe fits the Tissumend II pipette and gives the veterinary surgeon more control over the delivery of the tissue adhesive, the company adds.
Tissumend II is a methoxypropyl cyanoacrylate designed to absorb via hydrolysis in 60 to 90 days. Packaged under dry nitrogen for increased stability and shelf life, it is also tissue friendly and forms a strong bond between most tissue surfaces within 10 seconds. This product is designed for surgical procedures such as cat declaws, skin closure on spays and neuters, paw pad cuts, small lacerations, tail docks, dewclaw removals and as a final closure to laser surgical procedures.
The adhesive is supplied in individual pre-filled pipettes (0.2 ml) and packaged as 20 pipettes per box.
