A tough pill to swallow

Article

Pill your cat and stay on good terms.

We've all had to pill cats with some nasty-tasting pills. Even when you disguise them, they usually won't eat it. And trying to pill them can turn into a huge battle as they learn to anticipate the taste. I had great success with my own cat by pressing a small amount of a pill-holding treat around the pill and then pilling him as normal. He soon realized it didn't taste bad, and pilling became a very easy procedure. While he never would eat it on his own, he stopped fighting me and didn't hide or sulk afterwards. It's saved our relationship.
