Veterinary professionals experienced with, or interested in, iontopheresis will find that the IontoPatch offers several benefits over traditional devices which use external batteries and wires, the company says. With a self-contained battery, the IontoPatch extends drug delivery over a 24-hour period, shuts off automatically after the prescribed dose of 80 mA-min is delivered, and does not interfere with patients normal activities, the company says. The low current density of ~0.1 mA used by the IontoPatch is safer for the patient and comfortable, the company says.
