And when it's time to hire, Sheila Grosdidier, BS, RVT, a Firstline Editorial Advisory Board member and a partner with VMC Inc. in Evergreen, Colo., says it's often better to overhire. "I rarely see a clinic where the ratio of team members to doctors is too high," Grosdidier says. "And what we find is if we can see 15 percent or more extra appointments because we've got an extra team member working with the doctor, that's fabulous."
