Portland, Ore. --
Tony Ueber was named president of Banfield Pet Hospital®. And in 2012, Ueber is expected to become the next chief executive officer of the practice, succeeding John Payne.
Ueber joined the practice in 2009 focusing on the Banfield’s field leadership teams and growing brand recognition among pet owners. In his new role, Ueber will continue to oversee Banfield’s operations, marketing and medicine teams, Banfield reports.
“This promotion is a testament to Tony’s sound and dedicated leadership at Banfield over the past two and a half years,” says Banfield CEO John Payne. “It also marks the smooth progression of the strategic business build and succession plans that Tony and I, along with the leadership team, have formulated and executed against for Banfield’s future success.”
Payne succeeded Dr. Scott Campbell as chief executive officer in 2007. At that time, Payne committed to lead the practice for the next five years. During Ueber’s transition from president, and ultimately CEO of the practice, Payne will continue to serve as his mentor while also focusing on international expansion for Banfield and his work as a member of the Mars, Incorporated Global Petcare Management Team.
