Madison, Wis. - 08/08/06 - The veterinary medical building at the University of Wisconsin-Madison (UWM) collected about 6 inches of water after a recent flash flood. The storms severed a water pipe, contributed to roof leaks and flooded the school's loading dock as well as its basement.
The flooding did not impact treatment areas or other vital areas within the school, authorities add.
"Interior flooding was restricted to the basement of the building, says Karen Mier, UWM's facilities supervisor. "We have not yet assessed monetary damage."
UWM's Animal Science building also was impacted by the summer storms, the university says.
