Charles E. Short, DVM, PhD, DACVA, DECVAA: I am so delighted that over the past 20 years, to see how [pain management] has grown, to see how younger veterinarians are bought into the concept. And I'm so thankful that young veterinarians are addressing it and are showing so much compassion for their patients, whether they are large animals or small.
Jennifer Johnson, VMD, CVPP: I think that it's wonderful because with research and with technology, we have better ways to treat pain in humans and in animals. And you're gonna see that expand because that everybody sees the remarkable strides and things like monoclonal antibodies...But I also think that stepping back, the future is that it's going to be the no. 1 priority in our patients, and that it's going to be at the forefront, and it will continue to be recognized as critical for success in medicine.
