Story hard to swallow? Chew on it for a while
September 1st 2008The human-animal bond is a strong one, but I'm still amazed sometimes at what people will do for their animals. I know people, for example, who treat their pets to an ice-cream cone before visiting the veterinarian. I've seen painted toenails, dogs with pierced ears, cats with a gold-capped tooth, dogs with rollers in their hair, many types of pet sweaters, even artificial testicles placed back in a dog's scrotum to keep it from looking empty. The list goes on.
New equine hospital at Belmont set to open
September 1st 2008A $17 million, state-of-the-art equine referral hospital near Belmont Park that will serve the New York metropolitan area was to open in early September, according to its owners, International Equine Acquisitions Holdings (IEAH), the group that owns 2008 Kentucky Derby and Preakness winner Big Brown.
Cats share relationship advice on new Web site
August 31st 2008Sante Fe, N.M. -- Humans are always trying to solve problems in the animal world, but now two frisky felines, Foxy and Sam, have launched their own Web site, The Cat's Guide to Love, to capitalize on the relationship advice market for the benefit of homeless or abused animals.
