BizQuiz: Is your practice a great place to work? (Answer 3b)

Article

Taking the BizQuiz? This is the answer to question 3 of "Is your practice a great place to work?"

3) B—OK.

There’s nothing like criticism from the boss to demoralize you. If there’s a problem, a good practice owner or manager will let you know quickly whether you need to improve or need to challenge yourself more. Regular evaluations are a chance to make sure employees remain challenged and fulfilled, says Brian Conrad, CVPM, practice manager at Meadow Hills Veterinary Center in Kennewick, Wash. You should know what criteria you’re judged on, what expectations are of your work, and what to expect during the face-to-face evaluation itself. Evaluations should happen at least once a year.
