The product is designed for transportability and weighs 78 pounds. The machine may be operated in normal room light without a darkroom, film or chemicals, the company says.
This allows X-rays to be viewed on site in 35 seconds, permitting immediate consultation with the animal's owner in cases on injury or when pre-sale X-rays are taken. There is no need for the veterinarian to take multiple exposures for later processing in injury cases to ensure at least one good image, the company adds.
The practitioner may burn a CD with the viewer to give to the owner.
