Medical ID Systems, Inc. is now manufacturing BIPS Large Capsules in clear gelatin casings for easier observation of the large and small spheres in each dose. BIPS provides veterinarians with practical, cost-effective methods for in-clinic detection of obstructions and motility disorders, the company says. The large, clear capsule is typically administered to large dogs or broken open and dispersed in food. For cats and small dogs, a set of four small capsules is still available. BIPS are inert, white, low-density, radiopaque spheres that show up clearly on abdominal X-rays. Theyre a safe alternative form of diagnosis to help private practitioners detect physical obstructions, functional obstructions, delayed gastric emptying and intestinal motility disorders, the company adds.
