Help them heal with books
Give a book to help your veterinary clients cope with the loss of a pet.

There are a lot of books out there to help owners and children deal with euthanasia. We get them gently used from Amazon.com and other bookstores. When we give one to a client who has recently lost a pet, we add an inscription, explain that the book was used by someone else who lost a pet, and request that they pass it along to a friend one day. It goes over really well, especially the books for kids dealing with the loss of a pet.
